In general, exports continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of bananas and plantains decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
In value terms, banana and plantain imports fell notably to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped markedly in the following year.

Tanzania (X tons), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X tons) and South Africa (X kg) were the main suppliers of banana and plantain imports to Uganda, with a combined X% share of total imports.
