Wadding Of Textile Market Size in the U.S.

In 2020, the U.S. wadding of textile market decreased by -X% to $X, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, consumption showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when the market value increased by X% against the previous year. Wadding of textile consumption peaked at $X in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2020, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, wadding of textile production declined to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, production saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, production attained the maximum level at $X in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2020, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from the U.S.

In 2020, shipments abroad of wadding of textile materials and articles thereof increased by X% to X tonnes, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, wadding of textile exports reduced to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a slight descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2010 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

Canada (X tonnes), Mexico (X tonnes) and South Korea (X tonnes) were the main destinations of wadding of textile exports from the U.S., with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Japan, China, India, Belgium and Hong Kong SAR, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Hong Kong SAR, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Canada ($X), Mexico ($X) and South Korea ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for wadding of textile exported from the U.S. worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Japan, China, Hong Kong SAR, Belgium and India, which together accounted for a further X Kong SAR recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The average wadding of textile export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, waning by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a slight curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 an increase of X% y-o-y. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Wadding Of Textile Imports

Imports into the U.S.

For the fifth consecutive year, the U.S. recorded growth in purchases abroad of wadding of textile materials and articles thereof, which increased by X% to X tonnes in 2020. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2020; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Imports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, wadding of textile imports soared to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Imports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

China (X tonnes), Mexico (X tonnes) and India (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of wadding of textile imports to the U.S., with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Japan, the Netherlands, Indonesia, South Korea, Canada, Thailand, Switzerland, Turkey, Italy and the UK, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Turkey (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of wadding of textile to the U.S., comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Mexico ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mexico (-X% per year) and Italy (+X% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average wadding of textile import price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period from 2007 to 2020, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per tonne), while the price for Indonesia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
