In value terms, sulphur exports dropped notably to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Exports peaked at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.
Exports by Country
Indonesia (X tonnes), China (X tonnes) and Canada (X tonnes) were the main destinations of sulphur exports from the U.S., together comprising X% of total exports. Mexico and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Taiwan (Chinese), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Canada ($X) remains the key foreign market for sulphur exports from the U.S., comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Indonesia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by China, with a X% share.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of value to Canada totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Indonesia (-X% per year) and China (-X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2020, the average sulphur export price amounted to $X per tonne, increasing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, export prices failed to regain the momentum.

In general, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, sulphur imports skyrocketed to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Imports peaked in 2020 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Japan (X tonnes), India (X tonnes) and Canada (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of sulphur imports to the U.S., with a combined X% share of total imports.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Canada, while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest sulphur suppliers to the U.S. were Japan ($X), India ($X) and Canada ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per tonne), while the price for Canada ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
