In 2021, the U.S. sparkling wine market increased by X% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X litres. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, sparkling wine exports declined rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X%. The exports peaked at $X in 2020, and then shrank notably in the following year.

Canada (X litres) was the main destination for sparkling wine exports from the United States, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, sparkling wine exports to Canada exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Hong Kong SAR (X litres), twofold. The Netherlands (X litres) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Canada stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+X% per year) and the Netherlands (+X% per year).

In value terms, Canada ($X) remains the key foreign market for sparkling wine exports from the United States, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Canada amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+X% per year) and the Netherlands (+X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the average sparkling wine export price amounted to $X per litre, dropping by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a notable expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of X%. The export price peaked at $X per litre in 2020, and then reduced notably in the following year.
