The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 16%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, piper pepper imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. In 2022, the average piper pepper import price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 31% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 33% against the previous year.
