Canada (X tonnes) was the main destination for manuka exports from the United States, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, manuka exports to Canada exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, South Korea (X tonnes), threefold. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Canada totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: South Korea (+X% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average manuka export price amounted to $X per tonne, growing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per tonne in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.
In value terms, manuka imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
India (X tonnes), Vietnam (X tonnes) and Argentina (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of manuka imports to the United States, with a combined X% share of total imports. Brazil, Ukraine, Uruguay and Mexico lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Ukraine (+X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest manuka suppliers to the United States were Argentina ($X), Brazil ($X) and India ($X), together comprising X% of total imports. These countries were followed by Vietnam, Mexico, Uruguay and Ukraine, which together accounted for a further X, with a CAGR of +X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average manuka import price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, increasing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per tonne), while the price for Vietnam ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
