Saudi Arabia (X tons) was the main destination for crude maize oil exports from the United States, accounting for a 51% share of total exports. Moreover, crude maize oil exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Egypt (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Qatar (X tons), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Saudi Arabia was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Egypt (-7.9% per year) and Qatar (+111.7% per year).
In value terms, Saudi Arabia ($X) remains the key foreign market for crude maize oil exports from the United States, comprising 51% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Egypt ($X), with a 22% share of total exports. It was followed by Qatar, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Saudi Arabia was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Egypt (-6.0% per year) and Qatar (+181.8% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average crude maize oil export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 64% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
