Bicycle Exports

Exports from the U.S.

In 2021, approx. X units of bicycles and other cycles were exported from the United States; increasing by 35% on the previous year's figure. In general, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, bicycle exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Canada (X units) was the main destination for bicycle exports from the United States, with a 77% share of total exports. Moreover, bicycle exports to Canada exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Mexico (X units), more than tenfold. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 32%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, bicycle imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period.
