In value terms, amine-function compounds exports shrank notably to $X in 2020. Overall, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports hit record highs at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

China (X tonnes), Canada (X tonnes) and Japan (X tonnes) were the main destinations of amine-function compounds exports from the U.S., with a combined X% share of total exports. South Korea, Brazil, Singapore, Belgium, Mexico, Taiwan (Chinese), Turkey, Israel, Argentina and India lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in South Korea, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for amine-function compounds exported from the U.S. were China ($X), Canada ($X) and Japan ($X), together comprising X% of total exports. South Korea, Belgium, Brazil, Mexico, Taiwan (Chinese), Singapore, Israel, Turkey, India and Argentina lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X terms of the main countries of destination, South Korea saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average amine-function compounds export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, which is down by -X% against the previous year. Over the last thirteen years, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, export price attained the peak level of $X per tonne. from 2012 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average export prices failed to regain the momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the U.S.

In 2020, overseas purchases of amine-function compounds decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. In general, total imports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, imports decreased by -X% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tonnes in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
