The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Consumption peaked in 2020 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2019, and then fell significantly in the following year.

In value terms, exports of washing and cleaning preparations; surface-active, whether or not containing soap (excluding those of heading no. X), put up for retail sales contracted rapidly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Iraq (X tonnes), Israel (X tonnes) and Azerbaijan (X tonnes) were the main destinations of exports of washing and cleaning preparations; surface-active, whether or not containing soap (excluding those of heading no. X), put up for retail sales from Turkey, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Romania, Georgia, Qatar, the U.S., Cyprus, Morocco, Syrian Arab Republic, Iran, Turkmenistan and Libya, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Qatar, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Iran ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Romania ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Libya, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
