In 2021, the amount of splitting, slicing or paring machines exported from Turkey fell notably to X units, waning by -26.9% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, exports, however, recorded a moderate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 239%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Over the period under review, total exports indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Poland (X units), Germany (X units) and Bulgaria (X units) were the main destinations of wood slicing machine exports from Turkey, with a combined 40% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +44.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for wood slicing machine exported from Turkey were Germany ($X), Bulgaria ($X) and Poland ($X), together accounting for 59% of total exports. Romania, Russia, Iran, Morocco, Spain, Egypt, Argentina, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan and Iraq lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 29%.
Iran, with a CAGR of +75.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average wood slicing machine export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 101% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 105%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Kyrgyzstan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey
In 2021, the amount of splitting, slicing or paring machines imported into Turkey was estimated at X units, growing by 4.7% on 2020. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 310%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, wood slicing machine imports dropped significantly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, showed a mild downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 95% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2020, and then fell notably in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) was the main wood slicing machine supplier to Turkey, with a 92% share of total imports. Moreover, wood slicing machine imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), more than tenfold. Italy (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 0.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +12.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (-19.4% per year) and Italy (-21.9% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of wood slicing machine to Turkey, comprising 86% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 5.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese), with a 3.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to +23.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (-14.3% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-19.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average wood slicing machine import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, dropping by -37.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, posted modest growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 80% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per unit), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+351.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
