Sesame Oil Market Size in Turkey

In 2020, shipments abroad of sesame oil decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, sesame oil exports reduced remarkably to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a perceptible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010 with an increase of X% year-to-year. As a result, exports reached the peak of $X. From 2011 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Qatar (X tonnes), the U.S. (X tonnes) and Iran (X tonnes) were the main destinations of sesame oil exports from Turkey, together comprising X% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Qatar (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Qatar ($X), the U.S. ($X) and Iran ($X) were the largest markets for sesame oil exported from Turkey worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Iran ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Australia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tonnes in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
