Rice Market Size in Turkey

In value terms, Syrian Arab Republic ($X), Iraq ($X) and Libya ($X) constituted the largest markets for rice exported from Turkey worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Jordan, Israel, Belgium, Palestine, Benin and Free Zones, which together accounted for a further X the main countries of destination, Benin (+X% per year) saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average rice export price stood at $X per tonne in 2018, jumping by X% against the previous year. Overall, the rice export price enjoyed modest growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2018, export prices failed to regain their momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Jordan ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Benin ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Israel, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, rice imports attained their maximum at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.
