In value terms, lime exports totaled $X in 2020. In general, exports recorded strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Canada (X tonnes), Ghana (X tonnes) and Israel (X tonnes) were the main destinations of lime exports from Turkey, together accounting for X% of total exports. Mali, Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea, Senegal and Mauritania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Senegal, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for lime exported from Turkey were Canada ($X), Ghana ($X) and Mali ($X), together comprising X% of total exports. As a result, export price reached the peak level of $X per tonne. from 2012 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Guinea ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Israel ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports, however, posted a perceptible increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In 2020, France (X tonnes) constituted the largest lime supplier to Turkey, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, lime imports from France exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Portugal (X tonnes), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Switzerland (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from France stood at +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Portugal (+X% per year) and Switzerland (+X% per year).
