Plywood Exports

Exports from Turkey

Plywood exports from Turkey surged to X cubic meters in 2023, picking up by X% compared with 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2023 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, plywood exports skyrocketed to $X in 2023. In general, exports showed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2023 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Exports by Country

Romania (X cubic meters), Bulgaria (X cubic meters) and Iraq (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of plywood exports from Turkey, together comprising X% of total exports. Poland, Greece, Spain, Serbia, France, Latvia, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Lithuania and Moldova lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for Lithuania (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Romania ($X), Bulgaria ($X) and Greece ($X) constituted the largest markets for plywood exported from Turkey worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports. Iraq, Spain, France, Serbia, Latvia, Poland, Italy, Lithuania, Moldova and Saudi Arabia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

Lithuania, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2023, the average plywood export price amounted to $X per cubic meter, rising by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2023: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, plywood export price increased by X% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2023 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Latvia ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Saudi Arabia ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Greece (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Plywood Imports

Imports into Turkey

In 2023, approx. X cubic meters of plywood were imported into Turkey; rising by X% on 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a slight increase. Imports peaked at X cubic meters in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, plywood imports soared to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, showed a perceptible decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2023, Russia (X cubic meters) constituted the largest plywood supplier to Turkey, accounting for a X% share of total imports.
