These countries were followed by Iran, Oman, Azerbaijan, Libya, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Chile, Portugal and Tunisia, which together accounted for a further 38%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Portugal (with a CAGR of +55.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for wood milling machine exported from Turkey were Iraq ($X), Australia ($X) and Azerbaijan ($X), with a combined 20% share of total exports. Portugal, Algeria, Russia, Chile, Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, Libya and Oman lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Portugal, with a CAGR of +49.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average wood milling machine export price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -4.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 25%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2021, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Oman ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Egypt (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey
In 2021, purchases abroad of planing, milling or moulding machines was finally on the rise to reach X units after four years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a slight setback. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, wood milling machine imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports enjoyed a notable increase. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of wood milling machine to Turkey, with a 62% share of total imports. Moreover, wood milling machine imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China stood at -3.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (-4.2% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+14.4% per year).
In value terms, Germany ($X), Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) and Austria ($X) constituted the largest wood milling machine suppliers to Turkey, with a combined 69% share of total imports. Italy, China and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 28%.
The UK, with a CAGR of +103.5%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average wood milling machine import price amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 8.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a perceptible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, wood milling machine import price increased by +33.5% against 2016 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 80% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit.
