Mushroom And Truffle Exports

Exports from Turkey

In 2022, mushroom and truffle exports from Turkey contracted dramatically to X tons, reducing by X% against the year before. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mushroom and truffle exports declined markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), Georgia (X tons) and Romania (X tons) were the main destinations of mushroom and truffle exports from Turkey, with a combined X% share of total exports. France, Japan, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, Cyprus, South Korea, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for South Korea (with a CAGR of X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for mushroom and truffle exported from Turkey were Switzerland ($X), France ($X) and Romania ($X), together comprising X% of total exports. The average mushroom and truffle export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, falling by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Georgia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey

In 2022, the amount of mushrooms and truffles imported into Turkey dropped significantly to X tons, which is down by X% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports, however, recorded prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, mushroom and truffle imports fell significantly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. In 2022, Romania (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of mushroom and truffle to Turkey, with a X% share of total imports.
