Mercury Market Size in Turkey
The Turkish mercury market shrank sharply to $X in 2021, falling by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption faced a sharp descent. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.
Mercury Production in Turkey
In value terms, mercury production expanded modestly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the production volume increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, production remained at a lower figure.

Exports from Turkey
In 2021, shipments abroad of mercuries decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tonnes. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, mercury exports shrank to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed pronounced growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Sudan (X tonnes) was the main destination for mercury exports from Turkey, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, mercury exports to Sudan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Togo (X kg), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Guyana (X kg), with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Sudan stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Togo (+X% per year) and Guyana (-X% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for mercury exported from Turkey were Sudan ($X), Togo ($X) and Guyana ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by India, Azerbaijan and Chad, which together accounted for a further X the main countries of destination, Chad, with a CAGR of +X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average mercury export price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, with a decrease of -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per tonne in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was India ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Sudan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Guyana (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey
In 2021, overseas purchases of mercuries decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports saw a precipitous contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Moreover, mercury imports from Switzerland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X kg), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Germany (X kg), with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Switzerland amounted to -X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-X% per year) and Germany (+X% per year).
In value terms, Switzerland ($X) constituted the largest supplier of mercury to Turkey, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the United States ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Switzerland stood at -X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+X% per year) and India (-X% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average mercury import price stood at $X per tonne in 2021, dropping by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 an increase of X%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per tonne, and then shrank markedly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per tonne), while the price for Switzerland ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
