In 2022, shipments abroad of maize was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. In general, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by X%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, maize exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
Iraq (X tons) was the main destination for maize exports from Turkey, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, maize exports to Iraq exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Syrian Arab Republic (X tons), ninefold. Cyprus (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.
