Cyprus (X tonnes) was the main destination for cinnamon exports from Turkey, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, cinnamon exports to Cyprus exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Sweden (X tonnes), twofold. Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the average cinnamon export price amounted to $X per tonne, jumping by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price indicated a tangible increase from 2007 to 2018: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2018, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Cuba ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Turkey

Cinnamon imports into Turkey stood at X tonnes in 2018, picking up by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, cinnamon imports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2009 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Imports peaked in 2018 and are likely to continue its growth in the near future.

In value terms, cinnamon imports amounted to $X in 2018. Over the period under review, cinnamon imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, cinnamon imports reached their peak figure at $X in 2017, and then declined slightly in the following year.

Indonesia (X tonnes), Viet Nam (X tonnes) and China (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of cinnamon imports to Turkey, with a combined X% share of total imports. China, Hong Kong SAR, Austria and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by China, Hong Kong SAR (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest cinnamon suppliers to Turkey were Indonesia ($X), Viet Nam ($X) and Austria ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by X% year-to-year.
