Acyclic Hydrocarbons Exports

Exports from Turkey

In 2020, approx. X tons of acyclic hydrocarbons were exported from Turkey; which is down by X% compared with the year before. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2020; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons exports fell markedly to $X in 2020. In general, exports continue to indicate a deep downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Ukraine (X tons), Italy (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main destinations of acyclic hydrocarbons exports from Turkey, together accounting for X% of total exports. Portugal, Spain, Romania, Thailand, France and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

From 2012 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Thailand (with a CAGR of X,933.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons imports dropped slightly to $X in 2020. Overall, imports saw a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
