Hong Kong SAR (X units) was the main destination for typewriter exports from Thailand, accounting for a 92% share of total exports. Moreover, typewriter exports to Hong Kong SAR exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units), more than tenfold. The Netherlands (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 1.6% share.
From 2012 to 2019, the average annual growth rate of volume to Hong Kong SAR stood at -31.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Democratic Republic of the Congo (0.0% per year) and the Netherlands (-40.1% per year).
In value terms, Hong Kong SAR ($X), Kuwait ($X) and Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for typewriter exported from Thailand worldwide, together accounting for 65% of total exports.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Democratic Republic of the Congo, with a CAGR of 0.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

The average typewriter export price stood at $X per unit in 2019, with a decrease of -9.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 69%. In value terms, typewriter imports expanded markedly to $X in 2019. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 85%. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2019, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2019, India (X units) constituted the largest supplier of typewriter to Thailand, with a 54% share of total imports. Moreover, typewriter imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Japan (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Indonesia (X units), with a 17% share.
From 2012 to 2019, the average annual growth rate of volume from India amounted to -1.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Japan (+53.7% per year) and Indonesia (-36.1% per year).
In value terms, Indonesia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of typewriters and word-processing machines to Thailand, comprising 58% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 20% share of total imports. It was followed by Japan, with a 19% share.
