Titanium Market Size in Thailand

The Thai titanium market shrank to $X in 2020, which is down by -X% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). In general, consumption, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 with an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X. From 2010 to 2020, the growth of the market remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Titanium Exports

Exports from Thailand

Titanium exports from Thailand skyrocketed to X kg in 2020, growing by X% against the previous year. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. Over the period under review, exports attained the maximum at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, titanium exports skyrocketed to $X in 2020. Overall, exports, however, showed resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, exports reached the maximum in 2020 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country

Viet Nam (X kg), Japan (X kg) and Malaysia (X kg) were the main destinations of titanium exports from Thailand, together accounting for X% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Viet Nam (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, Japan ($X) remains the key foreign market for titanium exports from Thailand, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Malaysia ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Singapore, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Japan totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Malaysia (-X% per year) and Singapore (+X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The average titanium export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per tonne in 2019, and then fell sharply in the following year.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Viet Nam ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Titanium Imports

Imports into Thailand

In 2020, titanium imports into Thailand fell to X tonnes, which is down by -X% on the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tonnes. From 2010 to 2020, the growth imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, titanium imports expanded slightly to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, posted a temperate increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2009 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2010 to 2020, the growth imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2020, Malaysia (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of titanium to Thailand, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, titanium imports from Malaysia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Estonia (X tonnes), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Japan (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Malaysia stood at +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Estonia (+X% per year) and Japan (+X% per year).

In value terms, the largest titanium suppliers to Thailand were Estonia ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Japan ($X), together comprising X% of total imports.

Among the main suppliers, Estonia saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2020, the average titanium import price amounted to $X per tonne, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a pronounced setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of X% y-o-y. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Estonia ($X per tonne), while the price for Malaysia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Estonia, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
