In value terms, sunflower seed exports totaled $X in 2018. In general, sunflower seed exports continue to indicate a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, exports failed to regain their momentum.

Exports by Country

The Philippines (X tonnes), Myanmar (X tonnes) and China (X tonnes) were the main destinations of sunflower seed exports from Thailand, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Iran, South Korea, Maldives and Japan, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Maldives, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X), the Philippines ($X) and Myanmar ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for sunflower seed exported from Thailand worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports. Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was China ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
