Chocolate Market Size in Thailand

In value terms, chocolate exports stood at $X in 2018. Overall, chocolate exports continue to indicate a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, chocolate exports attained their peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Japan (X tonnes) was the main destination for chocolate exports from Thailand, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, chocolate exports to Japan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Malaysia (X tonnes), twofold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Myanmar (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Japan totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Malaysia (+X% per year) and Myanmar (+X% per year).

In value terms, Japan ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for chocolate exports from Thailand, comprising X% of total chocolate exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Myanmar ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by China, with a X% share.

Over the period under review, chocolate imports reached their peak figure in 2018 and are likely to continue its growth in the near future.
