Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, anise, badian, fennel and coriander exports contracted sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of X% y-o-y. The exports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

China (X tons), Honduras (X tons) and Mauritius (X tons) were the main destinations of anise, badian, fennel and coriander exports from Thailand, with a combined X% share of total exports. The United States, Slovenia, Indonesia, Senegal and Hong Kong SAR lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Senegal (+X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the third consecutive year, Thailand recorded growth in supplies from abroad of anise, badian, fennel and coriander, which increased by X% to X tons in 2021. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, anise, badian, fennel and coriander imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports posted a prominent expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

India (X tons), Italy (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of anise, badian, fennel and coriander imports to Thailand, with a combined X% share of total imports. The United States, Russia, Malaysia, Ukraine and Bulgaria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Ukraine (+X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
