The third position in this ranking was held by the UK (X kg), with a 7.9% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to France totaled +44.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+18.0% per year) and the UK (+69.0% per year).
In value terms, France ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for resinoids exports from Switzerland, comprising 56% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the UK ($X), with a 27% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 6.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to France stood at +45.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (+68.6% per year) and Germany (+11.6% per year).

In 2021, purchases abroad of resinoids increased by 81% to X tons, rising for the third consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports posted a perceptible expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, resinoids imports dropped to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 116% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, leveling off in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2021, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest resinoids supplier to Switzerland, accounting for a 43% share of total imports. Moreover, resinoids imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by Italy (X tons), with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from the United States totaled +36.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-7.2% per year) and Italy (+38.5% per year).

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average import price increased by 56% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton, and then fell sharply in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
