From 2012 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the UK amounted to -37.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Egypt (-28.3% per year) and Algeria (-20.5% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for typewriter exported from Sweden were the UK ($X), Algeria ($X) and Norway ($X), together accounting for 52% of total exports. Egypt, Germany, Tanzania, Belgium, Poland and Ethiopia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 8.2%.
Ethiopia, with a CAGR of -51.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.

The average typewriter export price stood at $X per unit in 2019, rising by 8.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, faced a dramatic downturn. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2019, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Norway ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Ethiopia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+398.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, approx. X units of typewriters and word-processing machines were imported into Sweden; surging by 4.8% on the year before. In general, imports posted a moderate expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 140%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, Germany ($X) constituted the largest supplier of typewriters and word-processing machines to Sweden, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Denmark, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2019, the average annual growth rate of value from Germany stood at +8.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+9.6% per year) and Denmark (-4.1% per year).
