Exports from Sweden

After four years of growth, shipments abroad of self-adhesive printed labels decreased by -6.9% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, self-adhesive printed label exports contracted to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Germany (X tons) was the main destination for self-adhesive printed label exports from Sweden, with a 39% share of total exports. Moreover, self-adhesive printed label exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Norway (X tons), twofold. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +28.3% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 20%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
