In value terms, piper pepper exports amounted to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 19%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Estonia (X tons), Norway (X tons) and Denmark (X tons) were the main destinations of piper pepper exports from Sweden, together comprising 89% of total exports. Finland and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 8%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the UK (with a CAGR of +48.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for piper pepper exported from Sweden were Estonia ($X), Denmark ($X) and Norway ($X), together accounting for 77% of total exports. These countries were followed by Finland and the UK, which together accounted for a further 19%.
The UK, with a CAGR of +46.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average piper pepper export price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 12% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Estonia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Finland (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Sweden
Piper pepper imports into Sweden expanded markedly to X tons in 2021, growing by 10% against the previous year's figure. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 15%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, piper pepper imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 28% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, India (X tons) constituted the largest piper pepper supplier to Sweden, accounting for a 45% share of total imports. Moreover, piper pepper imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Netherlands (X tons), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from India totaled +22.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (-10.2% per year) and the Netherlands (+9.2% per year).
In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of piper pepper to Sweden, comprising 44% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by Estonia, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from India stood at +18.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (-15.6% per year) and Estonia (+8.4% per year).

The average piper pepper import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, approximately mirroring the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 24%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
