Newsprint Market Size in Sweden

In 2020, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in the Swedish newsprint market, when its value increased by X% to $X. In general, consumption, however, showed a deep reduction. Over the period under review, exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Germany (X tonnes), the UK (X tonnes) and Poland (X tonnes) were the main destinations of newsprint exports from Sweden, together accounting for X% of total exports. Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria, India, Finland, Denmark, France and Pakistan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Pakistan, while exports for the other leaders experienced a decline.

From 2012 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average export prices failed to regain the momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2020, the countries with the highest prices were France ($X per tonne) and Austria ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to India ($X per tonne) and Denmark ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Pakistan, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
