In 2022, purchases abroad of carbon dioxide increased by X% to X tons, rising for the sixth consecutive year after four years of decline. In general, imports showed a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, carbon dioxide imports contracted markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports posted a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X%.
