Norway (X tons) was the main destination for aluminium alloy tube exports from Sweden, accounting for a 41% share of total exports. Moreover, aluminium alloy tube exports to Norway exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), fourfold. The UK (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9.2% share.

Based on 2021 figures, aluminium alloy tube export price increased by +101.1% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by 21%. Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Estonia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, purchases abroad of aluminium alloy tubes and pipes increased by 15% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, aluminium alloy tube imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Denmark (X tons) constituted the largest aluminium alloy tube supplier to Sweden, accounting for a 51% share of total imports. Moreover, aluminium alloy tube imports from Denmark exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), threefold. Italy (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.9% share.
