The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

France (X kg) was the main destination for raw silk exports from Spain, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, raw silk exports to France exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X kg), fourfold.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, raw silk imports rose to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. from 2018 to 2020, the growth imports failed to regain the momentum.
