Exports from Spain

For the third consecutive year, Spain recorded decline in shipments abroad of melons, which decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports recorded a pronounced decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, melon exports dropped to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

France (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main destinations of melon exports from Spain, with a combined X% share of total exports. The Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
