Common Clay Market Size in Spain

Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

France (X tonnes), Portugal (X tonnes) and Italy (X tonnes) were the main destinations of common clay exports from Spain, with a combined X% share of total exports. Algeria, the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Belgium, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the fourth consecutive year, Spain recorded growth in purchases abroad of common clay, which increased by X% to X tonnes in 2020. Over the period under review, imports posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2020 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, common clay imports expanded slightly to $X in 2020. Overall, imports showed a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2020, Turkey (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of common clay to Spain, accounting for a X% share of total imports.
