The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Exports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, cassava exports skyrocketed to $X in 2020. In general, exports enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Exports peaked in 2020 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Portugal (X tonnes), France (X tonnes) and the Netherlands (X tonnes) were the main destinations of cassava exports from Spain, together comprising X% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in the Netherlands, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Portugal ($X), France ($X) and Italy ($X) were the largest markets for cassava exported from Spain worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

For the third consecutive year, Spain recorded growth in supplies from abroad of cassava, which increased by X% to X tonnes in 2020. Over the period under review, imports recorded a buoyant expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 when the average import price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per tonne in 2019, and then shrank in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per tonne), while the price for Thailand ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
