Waterproof Footwear Market Size in Southern Asia

The South Asian waterproof footwear market declined slightly to $X in 2020, waning by -X% against the previous year. Overall, consumption, however, showed a pronounced slump. Pakistan (X tonnes) and India (X tonnes) represented roughly X% of total exports of waterproof footwear in 2020. Sri Lanka (X tonnes) ranks next in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Bangladesh (X%).

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Bangladesh, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2020, imports of waterproof footwear in Southern Asia stood at X tonnes, approximately equating the year before. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tonnes. from 2017 to 2020, the growth imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, waterproof footwear imports dropped dramatically to $X in 2020. Overall, imports, however, recorded a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. from 2017 to 2020, the growth imports failed to regain the momentum.

Bangladesh was also the fastest-growing in terms of the waterproof footwear imports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007 to 2020. At the same time, Nepal (+X%), Maldives (+X%), Pakistan (+X%) and Sri Lanka (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. The waterproof footwear import price in Southern Asia stood at $X per tonne in 2020, reducing by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when the import price increased by X% against the previous year.
