Exports in Southern Asia
In 2022, overseas shipments of plums and sloes decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2015, thus ending a six-year rising trend. Overall, exports showed a mild slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X%. The volume of export peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, plum and sloe exports declined to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Afghanistan represented the main exporter of plums and sloes in Southern Asia, with the volume of exports amounting to X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by India (X tons), making up a X% share of total exports. Pakistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Afghanistan was also the fastest-growing in terms of the plums and sloes exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2022. Pakistan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.
