Green Peas Exports

Exports in Southern Asia

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of peas (green), when their volume increased by X% to X tons. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, green peas exports soared to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

India dominates exports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Pakistan (X tons) and Bhutan (X tons), together comprising a X% share of total exports. Bangladesh (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to green peas exports from India stood at X%. At the same time, Bangladesh (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bangladesh emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. In 2022, overseas purchases of peas (green) increased by X% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after three years of decline. Overall, imports, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, green peas imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Pakistan prevails in imports structure, reaching X tons, which was near X% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Nepal (X tons), creating a X% share of total imports. Bhutan (X tons), Maldives (X tons), Bangladesh (X tons) and Afghanistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Imports into Pakistan decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Maldives (X%), Bangladesh (X%) and Bhutan (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Maldives emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022.
