Exports from India decreased at an average annual rate of -X% from 2012 to 2021. Pakistan (-X%) and Sri Lanka (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The shares of the largest exporters remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, India ($X) remains the largest mica supplier in Southern Asia, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Sri Lanka ($X), with a X% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value in India totaled -X%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Sri Lanka (-X% per year) and Pakistan (+X% per year).

The export price in Southern Asia stood at $X per tonne in 2021, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. In 2021, imports of mica in Southern Asia surged to X tonnes, rising by X% against 2020. In general, imports showed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by X%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, mica imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, India (X tonnes) was the main importer of mica, comprising X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Bangladesh (X tonnes), constituting a X% share of total imports.
Imports into India increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Bangladesh (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bangladesh emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Southern Asia, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012-2021.
