Canned Pineapple Market Size in Southern Asia

The volume of exports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, canned pineapple exports totaled $X in 2018. Overall, canned pineapple exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of exports peaked at $X in 2017, and then declined slightly in the following year.

Exports by Country

In 2018, Sri Lanka (X tonnes) was the key exporter of canned pineapples, making up X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by India (X tonnes), achieving a X% share of total exports. Bangladesh (X tonnes) occupied a minor share of total exports.

Sri Lanka experienced a relatively flat trend pattern of canned pineapples exports. At the same time, Bangladesh (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Export Prices by Country

In 2018, the canned pineapple export price in Southern Asia amounted to $X per tonne, going up by X% against the previous year. The export price indicated remarkable growth from 2007 to 2018: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, canned pineapple export price increased by +X% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by X% year-to-year. The level of export price peaked in 2018 and is expected to retain its growth in the immediate term.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, canned pineapple imports increased by +X% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. The volume of imports peaked at X tonnes in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.
