Exports in South-Eastern Asia

In 2023, shipments abroad of threshing machinery except combine harvester-threshers increased by X% to X units for the first time since 2020, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, exports showed moderate growth. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, threshing machinery exports skyrocketed to $X in 2023. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Thailand dominates exports structure, finishing at X units, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. Indonesia (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Malaysia (X units) and Vietnam (X units). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total exports.

Thailand was also the fastest-growing in terms of the threshing machinery except combine harvester-threshers exports, with a CAGR of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Vietnam (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Malaysia (X%) and Indonesia (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (X%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Vietnam (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Indonesia (X units) and Thailand (X units). All these countries together held approx. X% share of total imports. The following importers - Cambodia (X units), the Philippines (X units) and Myanmar (X units) - together made up X% of total imports.

Imports into Lao People's Democratic Republic increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Vietnam (X%), Myanmar (X%), Indonesia (X%), Cambodia (X%) and the Philippines (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. By contrast, Thailand (X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2023, the share of Lao People's Democratic Republic, Vietnam and Indonesia increased by X, X and X percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
