Starter Motor Exports

Exports in South-Eastern Asia

For the third consecutive year, South-Eastern Asia recorded growth in overseas shipments of starter motors and dual purpose starter generators, which increased by X% to X units in 2022. Overall, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, starter motor exports declined to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Thailand represented the key exporter of starter motors and dual purpose starter generators in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of exports resulting at X units, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. Malaysia (X units) took a X% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Indonesia (X%) and Singapore (X%). Vietnam (X units) took a relatively small share of total exports.

Thailand experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of starter motors and dual purpose starter generators.
