Exports in South-Eastern Asia

For the third consecutive year, South-Eastern Asia recorded growth in overseas shipments of diodes, other than photosensitive or light emitting diodes, which increased by X% to X units in 2022. Total exports indicated a slight expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X%. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, diode exports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Singapore (X units) and Malaysia (X units) represented the main exporters of diodes, other than photosensitive or light emitting diodes in South-Eastern Asia, together reaching approx. X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Thailand (X units), achieving a X% share of total exports.

In value terms, diode imports rose rapidly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade.
