Iron or steel sanitary ware exports soared to X tons in 2021, picking up by 34% against the previous year's figure. In general, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 47% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, iron or steel sanitary ware exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Thailand was the main exporting country with an export of around X tons, which resulted at 41% of total exports. Malaysia (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Vietnam (X tons) and Singapore (X tons). All these countries together held near 51% share of total exports. Myanmar (X tons), Indonesia (X tons) and the Philippines (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Myanmar (with a CAGR of +24.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Thailand ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Singapore ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 81% share of total exports. Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.

Among the main exporting countries, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +38.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per ton, surging by 5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, overseas purchases of sanitary ware and parts of iron or steel were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, iron or steel sanitary ware imports soared to $X in 2021.
