The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Vietnam dominates exports structure, reaching X tons, which was near X% of total exports in 2021. The following exporters - Singapore (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) - each recorded a X% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to roasted malt exports from Vietnam stood at +X%. At the same time, Thailand (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Thailand emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012-2021. Singapore experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Vietnam and Thailand increased by +X and +X percentage points, respectively. Singapore (-X p.p.) saw their shares reduced.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X) remains the largest roasted malt supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Singapore ($X), with a X% share of total exports.

The export price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per ton in 2021, reducing by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a mild reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Vietnam ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +X% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports into Vietnam increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Lao People's Democratic Republic (+X%) and Myanmar (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Lao People's Democratic Republic emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +X% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Cambodia (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Vietnam (+X p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Cambodia (-X p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
