Particle Board Exports

Exports in South-Eastern Asia

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of particle board, when their volume decreased by X% to X cubic meters. Total exports indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X cubic meters in 2021, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, particle board exports shrank rapidly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then fell sharply in the following year.

Thailand dominates exports structure, amounting to X cubic meters, which was near X% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Malaysia (X cubic meters), creating a X% share of total exports. Indonesia (X cubic meters) and Vietnam (X cubic meters) took a minor share of total exports.

Exports from Thailand increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Indonesia (X%) and Vietnam (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. In 2022, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per cubic meter, growing by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the export price increased by X%. The level of export peaked at $X per cubic meter in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per cubic meter), while Indonesia ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in South-Eastern Asia

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of particle board decreased by X% to X cubic meters in 2022. Total imports indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X cubic meters in 2021, and then declined dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, particle board imports fell rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

Malaysia represented the main importing country with an import of around X cubic meters, which reached X% of total imports. Indonesia (X cubic meters) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Vietnam (X%), the Philippines (X%) and Myanmar (X%). Singapore (X cubic meters) held a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to particle board imports into Malaysia stood at X%. At the same time, Myanmar (X%), the Philippines (X%) and Vietnam (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Myanmar emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2022. Singapore experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.
