Exports in South-Eastern Asia

Non-enclosed loudspeakers exports dropped slightly to X units in 2021, remaining stable against 2020 figures. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2020, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, non-enclosed loudspeakers exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +133.5% against 2012 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 28%. The level of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Vietnam was the largest exporting country with an export of around X units, which amounted to 73% of total exports. Thailand (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Indonesia (X units). All these countries together held near 24% share of total exports.

Vietnam was also the fastest-growing in terms of the loudspeakers (not in enclosure) exports, with a CAGR of +19.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Thailand (+14.9%) and Indonesia (+2.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Vietnam and Thailand increased by +32 and +2.3 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X) remains the largest non-enclosed loudspeakers supplier in South-Eastern Asia, comprising 81% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with an 8.6% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 31% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports in South-Eastern Asia

After two years of decline, overseas purchases of loudspeakers (not in enclosure) increased by 13% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a slight slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 15% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-enclosed loudspeakers imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Vietnam was the key importing country with an import of around X units, which resulted at 40% of total imports. Thailand (X units) held a 23% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Indonesia (17%) and Malaysia (13%). The following importers - Singapore (X units) and the Philippines (X units) - together made up 5.9% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by the Philippines (with a CAGR of +14.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Malaysia, with a 13% share.
