Moreover, prepared frozen vegetables production in Indonesia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Thailand (X tonnes), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Viet Nam (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume in Indonesia totaled +X%. The remaining producing countries recorded the following average annual rates of production growth: Thailand (+X% per year) and Viet Nam (+X% per year).

Exports in South-Eastern Asia

Total exports indicated moderate growth from 2007 to 2020: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports increased by +X% against 2013 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure in 2020 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

In value terms, prepared frozen vegetables exports fell to $X in 2020. Total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports increased by +X% against 2013 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports attained the maximum at $X in 2019, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

Exports by Country

Viet Nam represented the largest exporter of frozen vegetables and mixtures of vegetables (prepared or preserved) in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of exports finishing at X tonnes, which was near X% of total exports in 2020. Thailand (X tonnes) occupied a X% share (based on tonnes) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Indonesia (X%).

Viet Nam was also the fastest-growing in terms of the frozen vegetables and mixtures of vegetables (prepared or preserved) exports, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007 to 2020. At the same time, Indonesia (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Thailand (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Viet Nam (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Thailand saw its share reduced by -X% from 2007 to 2020, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Viet Nam ($X), Thailand ($X) and Indonesia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2020, with a combined X% share of total exports.

Viet Nam recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2020, the prepared frozen vegetables export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per tonne, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a slight increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2012 an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, export price reached the peak level of $X per tonne. from 2013 to 2020, the growth in terms of the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per tonne), while Viet Nam ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand, while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Prepared Frozen Vegetables Imports

Imports in South-Eastern Asia

In 2020, supplies from abroad of frozen vegetables and mixtures of vegetables (prepared or preserved) decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the second consecutive year after three years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded perceptible growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, prepared frozen vegetables imports contracted notably to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, recorded a tangible expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% y-o-y. The level of import peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

Malaysia represented the key importer of frozen vegetables and mixtures of vegetables (prepared or preserved) in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of imports amounting to X tonnes, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2020. Singapore (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Thailand (X%) and the Philippines (X%). The following importers - Indonesia (X tonnes), Viet Nam (X tonnes) and Timor-Leste (X tonnes) - each resulted at a X% share of total imports.

Imports into Malaysia increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2020. At the same time, Timor-Leste (+X%), Thailand (+X%), Indonesia (+X%) and the Philippines (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Timor-Leste emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in South-Eastern Asia, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2020. Singapore experienced a relatively flat trend pattern.
